South Florida photographer David Muir launches coffee table book of ‘real’ Jamaica

Authenticity is everything to Davis Muir, Rod Hagwood writes in this article for the Sun-Sentinel.

The Sunrise-based photographer’s first book “Pieces of Jamaica: The Real Rock Edition” (Words2Print Media Group, $45) is all about getting to the “realness” of the island nation.

“I wanted it to be a documentation of Jamaica for everyone to enjoy,” said Muir. “People walking down the street. People in the marketplace. Every picture is candid. I did that by integrating myself into the community and waiting for the moment to happen. I would spend three or four hours in one place.”

The book was officially launched today.
