Herbs for Lung Health

Our lungs are often neglected and are abused . A friend of mine is now in hospital with a collapsed lung after years of smoking.  We are all exposed to toxic things invading our bodies and we can really tax our lungs.  Even if you don’t smoke you might be exposed to second hand smoke or fumes from cars or just the environment.  Here is a list of herbs that may help to improve lung health.

 Thyme expectorant, antispasmodic, and antibacterial properties.

 Lungwort -used to promote lung and respiratory health and clear congestion

Oregano Antihistamine and anti-inflammatory

Plantain Leaf – ease cough and soothe irritated mucous membranes

Licorice Root – an anti inflammatory , helps in many ailments

Sage-vapors to dispel lung disorders and sinusitis (tea, vapors)

Mullein – clears mucus and reduce inflammation – (take in a tea form)
